Foshan Lingdong (meaning Flexibility) Foreign Language Training school is a private language training Institution, located in the center of Foshan, one of the major cities in Guangdong Province.

Lingdong (LD) was founded in 2001 by Houshen Qin, the President of Lingdong and Helen Huang, the Director of Lingdong. Classes started in 2002 in Foshan, aiming at providing high quality language training services. Since by then, Lingdong has quickly built a formidable reputation by concentrating on the high quality of education offered on its premises.

In 2004, www.sina.com and China International Radio Station ranked the Foshan LD School and four other schools “The Top Five Approved Language Training Schools for Youth in the Nation” for its advanced language program. The Department of Guangdong Civil Affairs awarded Lingdong Outstanding Private Education Institution for their quality and professional English training five times (in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005,2006). In 2005, Lingdong Nanhai Campus was established in Haijing Garden, Nanhai. In 2007, Lingdong Shunde Campus was established in Jiaxin City Plaza, Daliang Town.

Lingdong is the first and only training school to combine a functional interactive teaching method with individual interviewed assessment, small classes, qualified foreign teachers, accomplished teaching assistants, classes segregated by English proficiency level and courses for all ages over three in Foshan.

Lingdong is also devoted to charity, such as: offering free English Corner and English Club for the community, donating to Guangxi mountain area schools, etc. Many times the press (Foshan Daily, Zhujiang Times, Nanfang Daily) has stated “Lingdong is famous throughout the nation as a ‘creative educational institution growing in Foshan’”.

COURSES :

LD school provides a variety of Conversational English Courses that are scheduled throughout the year, including classes for adults (general and business), youth and children of all ages. The school offers a systematic approach to the study of English for both conversational and business purposes. Our school focuses on developing students’(from 3yrs to adults 18-35) oral communication skills . LD classes are student-centered and highly interactive.

■ Conversational English classes , for adults.

There are 5 levels of adult courses , from survival to advanced English.

■ Children’s classes start from kindergarten (from 3 to 6 years old ) and continue through youth (12 to 18 years old ). Students are interviewed and assessed according to their English ability and age, and then assigned to a suitable class.

■ Business classes are based on the BEC (Business English Certificate) 1, 2 and 3.

We arrange a maximum of 20 students per class and 16 students per Kindergarten Class .

Lingdong school’s English corner is held every Thursday evening. A variety of English teachers are scheduled to speak on a broad range of topics. Students and English fans from the community at large are encouraged to participate. LD provides this free speaking

opportunity for students to get acquainted with the teachers and visitors; thus, improving their conversational English skills.

Lingdong school’s English club is held every Sunday afternoon for children. The purpose is to encourage their interest in studying English, and let them experience the different western culture.

ADDITIONAL INTRODUCTION TO THE SCHOOL

1. Semester

LD school holds 4 sessions per year

A. Spring session, 4 months: March --- July ( roughly 3/1----7/4)

B. Summer session, 1.5 months: July---August (roughly 7/10----8/25)

C. Autumn session, 4 months: September---January (roughly 9/4----1/10 of the next year).

D. Winter session, 7 days (roughly 7 days before Spring Festival)

2. Classroom Period

The classroom period for children is 2 hours (Most classes consist of two 50-minute periods). One teacher will teach a maximum of 24 classroom-hours per week.

3. General Class Schedule

Tuesday through Friday, we provide courses for adults. Some teachers are also commissioned to do corporate training sessions at local companies or schools. On Saturdays and Sundays, we provide courses for kids.

4. Teaching System

LD school has been using the specially designed LD English Teaching System. Consultants and veterans of the school to provide training lessons to the new teachers every semester. Every course level has a corresponding textbook and teaching resources that are designed by our consultant.

5. Life Standard

WORRIED ABOUT YOUR FINANCIAL SITUATION ? Don’t be! Just buy your ticket and come as you are! The school will lend you funds for your basic living necessities when you arrive. Because living expenses (food , transportation , and household necessities, etc.) are extremely reasonable, your salary allows you to live and maintain a very comfortable lifestyle with many opportunities for traveling within China. 6. Visa

LD school covers the cost of your working visa, but you are responsible for obtaining the initial entry tourist visa.----Applying for a tourist visa helps expedite your entry into the country . Upon your arrival, the school will change your tourist visa into a teaching visa. (Applying for a teaching visa in your home country takes an incredibly long time). Arriving as a tourist is a common policy and nothing to be nervous about. We encourage you to bring any pertinent teaching materials (CDs, VCDs, reference books, newspapers, magazines, photos, etc.) with you .
